About Us
Erosion control is the process of using land according to its capabilities, protecting the soil surface, and controlling runoff before it develops into an erosive force.
Erosion Management Services, Incorporated was formed in 1997 by Kevin Wyzykowski. He realized early that advancements in geotextiles and the advent of the Atlanta Clean Water Act would play a big role in the rapidly growing city of Atlanta.
Erosion can affect public and private property, as well as wildlife, and is a contributing factor of pollution. Erosion/Improper drainage can lead to costly repairs, damage, and work stop orders. Soil erosion and control of sediment is important to protect and conserve land, air, and water. A study completed in 1972 found that sediment and erosion contributed immensely to surface water pollution as well as harming agricultural, recreational, and domestic properties. These sediments can also act as carrying devices for bacteria, metals, and other pollutants..
With multiple crews and years of experience, Erosion Management Services holds a “blue card.” Anyone involved in land development, design, review, permitting, construction, monitoring, inspection, or any land-disturbing activity in Georgia must meet education requirements and be certified by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission program developed in consultation with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division and the Stakeholder Advisory Board.
